I combine portraiture and photojournalism
using the Hasselblad for medium format, and Nikon for photojournalism, shooting color and black and white. I always work with a professional assistant. We compliment each other stylistically, and often give two aspects of the same scene.
Although portraits have to be posed, we do our best to make sure they have an easy and loose feeling. Candids involve no posing.
From the first portrait before the wedding day, I focus on the bridal couple, through to the final photo-op, whatever that may be. I work quickly and carefully. When taking candids, I am constantly aware of the couple in my peripheral vision, scanning for decisive moments.
Cassie Arnold Fine Photography offers flexible options for wide coverage, in order to provide a variety of end products. After all, the production of good negatives is the key goal of a successful shooting day. The negatives will then be the basis for albums, folios or finished prints for framing up to 30” x 40”.
